The meaning of different jewelry symbols – part 2

In part one of this series, we learned the meaning of a key symbol, a horseshoe, and a butterfly. Now we’ll continue with three other symbols. Enjoy!

Fleur-de-Lis is French for “flowers of the lily.” This symbol has a long and rich history in many different countries and cultures. The meaning of this token seems to be endless. For example, religiously it represents purity, the Virgin Mary or, the holy trinity. In the military, it stands for power and strength. It’s often associated with royalty and especially the French crown. You can see Fleur-de-Lis on coat of arms, royal crowns, ornament, and scepters.

Fleur-de-lis has a lot of different meanings, but perfection, life, and light are often associated with the symbol. If you want to feel like a royalty, or give your jewelry its own meaning, a Fleur-de-Lis symbol is perfect!

Just like an anchor holds a boat or a big ship secured and in place, it’s a symbol for security and stability. You can wear it to show your love to the marine, but the anchor goes beyond its connection to the sea. Significant meanings of the symbol are to stay grounded or to have relationships with a solid foundation. Because of its resemblance of a cross, it became a token for a happy life and hope for the future in the Christian tradition. The anchor symbol never goes out of style and is perfect for a person with love for the sea.

The Hamsa Hand

This Middle Eastern amulet symbolizes the hand of God. It’s mostly known as a token for protection and is supposed to protect you from the evil eye. The evil eye is a vicious stare that will cause you bad luck, death, and illness. It’s also a symbol of happiness and luck and is meant to bring the wearer health and good fortune. Pick a piece of jewelry with the Hand of Hamsa and give it to a loved one you want to feel protected.
